Gardaí investigating what is believed to have been a petrol bomb attack on a house in the Ballinfoyle area of Galway city last night have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Three men were sleeping upstairs in the two-storey terraced house in the Ballinfoyle Park estate when a firebomb was thrown through the front window shortly before 11pm last night.
Two of the men were taken to hospital where they were treated for smoke inhalation.
Fire officers say the living room of the house was badly damaged in the blaze.
The owner of the house says she believes those responsible for the attack targeted the wrong house.
The scene has now been sealed off and a technical examination is under way.
