Gardai have appealed for assistance from the public in their investigation into the gangland killing of a 26-year-old man in north Dublin last night.
He has been named locally as Paul Kelly from Gardiner Street.
Mr Kelly was shot dead at a block of apartments at Charlemont Road near where Griffith Avenue intersects the Malahide Road.
The victim did not live at the apartment block but was visiting a family member when the attack took place.
It is understood that he was shot a number of times in the doorway of the apartment block at 11.45pm last night.
Eyewitnesses said two men fled the scene, one possibly armed with a shotgun, the other with a handgun.
The scene of the remained sealed off throughout the day and members of the Garda Technical Bureau carried out a forensic examination.
It is understood more than one weapon may have been discharged.
It is not known how many times Mr Kelly was shot but gardaí say six spent rounds were found at the scene.
Garda Superintendent Nicky Connelly has appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Gardaí are continuing to question four men and a woman who were arrested following the shooting.
A man in his late teens and a man in his 50s are being held at Clontarf Garda Station.
A man in his mid-20s is being held at Howth Garda station and a man in his early 20s and a woman believed to be in her 40s are being held at Raheny Garda Station.
They were detained during a number of follow-up searches in the inner city.
