A 21-year-old man remains in a serious condition in hospital in Tralee, Co Kerry, after he received head injuries during an assault in the town on Thursday evening.
The man was walking on Brewery Road at around 6.30pm when he was attacked by another man, knocked to the ground and kicked in the head several times.
He is being treated at Kerry General Hospital.
Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses to contact them.
