A 21-year-old man is a stable condition in hospital following an assault in Tralee, Co Kerry.
The man was walking along Brewery Road in the town at around 6.30pm yesterday evening when he was attacked by another man.
He was kicked several times in the head and received serious head injuries.
He was rushed to Kerry General Hospital, where he is being treated.
Gardaí say the attack took place in daylight and they are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
