Adverse weather conditions have resulted in the cancellation of the Skyfest fireworks display in Dublin later this evening.
Organisers say they took the decision following consultation with health and safety advisors and authorities.
The bad weather has also disrupted sea travel. Stena Line has cancelled its two HSS sailings today and tomorrow from Dún Laoghaire to Holyhead and from Belfast to Stranraer.
And Irish Ferries have cancelled two Dublin Swift sailings today between Dublin and Holyhead but the conventional ferry sailings are still operating.
St Patrick's Festival organisers say an estimated 650,000 people lined the streets of the capital to watch the parade yesterday.
Tens of thousands of people took part in other parades around the country including Belfast, Limerick and Cork.
