The woman arrested in connection with the death of a man in Roscrea, Co Tipperary, has had her period of detention extended and will be held in custody overnight.
The 36-year-old man who died is understood to be a Czech who was living in the town with his wife and their two children.
Gardaí were alerted to an incident at a house in the New Line area of the town at around 11pm.
The man who was found was declared dead at the scene shortly afterwards. He had apparently suffered stab wounds.
The scene was preserved and the State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, and the Garda Technical Squad were called to the house.
The Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation has also been called in to assist the investigation.
