PSNI officers were called in to separate two groups of rioters in north Belfast early today.

Police say they were alerted to the disturbances following reports that petrol bombs had been thrown in the Ardoyne Road area.

The PSNI said local community representatives helped officers to calm the situation and the rioters then dispersed.

Two men who were arrested in connection with the disturbances are being questioned by detectives.
