Ten people have been questioned in connection with the organised smuggling of contraband cigarettes into Ireland.
Eight are from Northern Ireland, one is from Cork and one from the Canary Islands.
Files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
It follows the seizure by customs officers of 160,000 cigarettes at Dublin Airport yesterday.
The cigarettes, which are worth more than €60,000, were recovered from two flights which had arrived from the Canaries.
Over four million cigarettes have been confiscated by customs officers at Dublin Airport so far this year.
