A 20-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with five counts of attempted murder, after a knife attack in the village of Caledon, Co Tyrone, on Monday.

Strabane Magistrates Court heard today that Christopher Hugh James Kelly of Minterburn Road in Caledon has been assessed by a psychiatrist.

A detective told the court none of the five stabbing victims were known to the accused.

Mr Kelly is due to appear at Dungannon Magistrates Court on 14 March.
