Two 17-year-olds have appeared at the Circuit Court in Ennis charged in connection with causing serious harm to two children in Limerick last September.
John Mitchell and John O’Donoghue, both with addresses in Limerick city, have pleaded guilty to two charges of intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to two children in Limerick on 10 September.
The court heard that John Mitchell had been in custody since 12 September and the second accused, John O’Donoghue, who had been on bail, was now surrendering himself to custody.
The case has been adjourned until 17 April to allow for the preparation of probation and welfare reports and the two were remanded in custody to that date.
The court was told a jury would be required in the case of a third person also facing a similar charge.
