In the first attack, a man entered a shop in the village of Caledon and stabbed a local man this morning.
The man then ran outside and stabbed three tradesmen.
Ambulances were called to Caledon shortly before 11am and the four wounded men were taken to Craigavon Hospital – two of them are in a serious condition.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the village, which has been cordoned off.
One businesswoman said she saw a man running around the main street and he was trying to attack people, stabbing anyone in the way.

The PSNI said officers recovered a kitchen knife.
PSNI Chief Inspector Tom Sinclair said police inquiry was at a very early stage and that four scenes in Caledon village would be examined.
He urged anyone who witnessed the attacks or who could assist the PSNI in any way to contact them.
Sinn Féin Fermanagh & South Tyrone MP Michelle Gildernew said the local community around Caledon is totally shocked after the attacks.
She said they appeared to be totally random attacks in the heart of what is a very tight-knit community.
