Six men have gone on trial in London accused of plotting a series of bombings on the city's transportation system on 21 July 2005.
Explosive devices on three underground trains and a bus failed to go off and nobody was hurt. However, the alert caused traffic chaos.
This morning the court heard that the men were engaged in 'an extremist Muslim plot' to target the UK's capital city.
All six men are charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
The trial is expected to last four months.
