Gardaí in Dublin seized two firearms and a quantity of ammunition during a planned search of a house in Clondalkin this morning.
A sub-machine gun, a semi-automatic shotgun and about 30 shotgun cartridges were found concealed in the back garden of the house at Greenfort Lawns.
All items were removed for forensic examination.
No arrests were made so far and investigations are continuing.
The search was conducted as part of Operation Anvil.
