Limerick - Three shootings overnight

A brother of the man who was shot dead in Limerick earlier today has been charged with threatening to kill another person in the Southill area of the city this morning.

Paul Crawford from O'Malley Park, who is in his 20s, has been remanded in custody to appear at Limerick District Court on Wednesday.

40-year-old Noel Crawford was shot by a lone gunman as he stood outside a house in O'Malley Park at about 3am.

He was removed to Limerick Regional Hospital where he died a short time later.

The gunman escaped on foot.

The victim was the uncle of five-year-old Jordan Crawford, who was shot in the leg in a similar gun attack last month.

Gardaí have said they believe the incident was feud-related.

They are also investigating a second incident which occurred at 4am when shots were fired through an upstairs window of another house at O'Malley Park. There were no reported injuries.

And gardaí from Mayorstone in Limerick are investigating another shooting incident at Cliona Park in the city which occurred at 11.30pm last night.

A 33-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and removed to Limerick Regional Hospital where his injuries are described as not life-threatening.

This incident, however, is not believed to be feud-related.
