Neighbours and friends of the young apprentice plumber, Anthony Campbell, who was gunned down as he went about his work in Finglas, Dublin, last Tuesday morning, have opened book of condolence.
The book can be signed outside the St Michan's House flats complex, where Anthony had lived.
It is understood Mr Campbell was shot because he would have been a witness to the killing of 39-year-old drug dealer Martin 'Marlo' Hyland.
The residents who have organised the book say they intend to hand it to the Minister for Justice, Michael McDowell, and they believe that new bail restrictions should be introduced.
Spokeswoman Mandy Kavanagh said the local community is devastated.
'It's the most natural thing the world, you open a door when someone knocks, and that's all the poor child did', she said.
