Police in Britain are looking for clues in woodland in Suffolk where the naked bodies of two women were found yesterday.
The identities are expected to be confirmed by police later today.
They are thought to be those of Paula Clennell and Annette Nicholls.
If confirmed they will be the fourth and fifth prostitutes found dead in the past 10 days.
One of the bodies that were discovered yesterday afternoon from woodland near Ipswich has been removed by Suffolk Police. The other body is still at the scene.
The bodies were discovered in undergrowth and were kept overnight at the spots where they were found. Forensic officers erected two tents over the locations.
Detective Chief Superintendent Stewart Gull, who is leading the investigation, said the natural assumption was that the bodies found were the remains of Ms Clennell and Ms Nicholls. Both had been reported missing.
All five bodies have been found in the area around Ipswich in the past fortnight, and a massive manhunt is under way to catch the killer before he strikes again.
Last night in Ipswich's red light district the town's prostitutes appeared to have heeded police advice to stay off the streets.
They are fearful but for many the need to earn money for drugs is likely to force them back to work.
