Ipswich - Three prostitutes found dead

Police in Suffolk in southeast England, who are investigating the deaths of three prostitutes, have said they are now worried about the safety of two other missing women.

The possibility that a serial killer could at large is being investigated after the bodies of Gemma Adams, Tania Nicol and a third woman were found on the outskirts of Ipswich in the past eight days.

Two other women, also believed to be working as prostitutes in Ipswich, are now missing, one was last seen a week ago, the other last Saturday.

Detective Chief Superintendent Stewart Gull said while the third death has not yet been formally linked to the two others, the facts speak for themselves.

At a news conference this morning police urged anyone who knows the whereabouts of the women to call them immediately.

They have also appealed to all sex workers in the Ipswich area to stay off the streets.

In an attempt to build trust, officers have suspended any enforcement action against them.

They have also advised women not to make their way home from Christmas parties on their own.
