Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch has cancelled plans for a book and interview by OJ Simpson, describing the idea as 'ill-considered'.
Mr Simpson had been due to conduct an interview about a book entitled 'If I Did It, Here's How It Happened', chronicling how he would have murdered his ex-wife and her friend if he were the killer.
Following outrage in the US over the proposed media blitz, Mr Murdoch said his company was pulling the plug on both the book and two-part television interview.
Mr Simpson, who has always denied murders, was acquitted after a racially charged trial in 1995.
The American football star was subsequently found liable for the deaths in civil suit in 1997 and ordered to pay damages of $33.5 million to the victims' families.
