The Fine Gael health spokesman, Liam Twomey, has said he would like the Taoiseach to publish a proposed wording for a constitutional amendment on the rights of the child.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio's Saturday View, Mr Twomey said that time before a referendum would be tight.
He said that a fully informed public debate was needed before then.
