A British man has been sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in jail for plotting terrorist attacks in America and Britain.
Muslim convert Dhiren Barot, 34, was sentenced by a London court after pleading guilty last month to conspiracy to murder.
He was accused of plotting to blow up the New York Stock Exchange and other premises in America, and of planning a 'dirty bomb' attack in London.
Giving his reaction to today's sentencing, British Home Secretary John Reid said it showed the threat posed by terrorism was 'very real and serious'.
