Dublin Fire Brigade says it responded to more than 700 calls in the greater Dublin area last night.
David Bell, Third Officer Operations of the Dublin Fire Brigade, said the number of calls concerning firework injuries were down on this time last year.
However, he said fire and ambulance callouts had significantly increased.
The majority of the calls had to do with bonfires, and two people received minor injuries from fireworks.
Gardaí in the capital say they made a number of public order arrests but there were no reports of serious incidents.
