Gardaí have seized 7kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of €500,000 following a search of a house in Cork city.
A substantial quantity of cash, 12kg of mixing agent and other drug paraphernalia were also seized during the operation.
The discovery was made off the Commons Road and follows a lengthy surveillance operation by detectives from the Cork Divisional Drugs unit.
A 25-year-old man was arrested and is being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act at Gurranabraher Garda Station, where he can be held for up to seven days.
It is believed that the cocaine was destined for the Cork market.
Gardaí are conducting a detailed examination of the scene.
