An oral hearing into plans for a major new landfill in north Co Dublin was due to start today.
The proposed location area, in the Tooman-Nevitt of Lusk, lies just to the west of the M1 and 11km north of Swords.
The dump would serve Dublin city and county for up to 30 years.
However, some local people say the landfill could affect the underground water source that serves the area's fruit and vegetable industry.
