More than 600,000 people who qualify for travel passes can avail of free transport at any hour from today after restrictions were lifted this morning.
Restrictions, which were in existence for almost 40 years, were removed on foot of a proposal by the Minister for Social Affairs, Séamus Brennan.
Pensioners, those with disabilities, welfare recipients and carers can travel free at any time on Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann services.
