Gardaí are appealing for information from the public after a substantial sum of cash was taken from a National Irish Bank branch in Dublin this morning.
They are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Killester, Donaghmede or Clontarf areas last night or this morning to contact them.
The cash was taken from the National Irish Bank in Killester in north Dublin after masked and armed men kidnapped a family in the Baldoyle area.
The National Irish Bank worker was forced to go to the bank and take the money. He delivered it to the gang and then escaped.
The family were held at gunpoint overnight by the raiders. They are recovering after they were found by gardaí around midday.
The car in which the man was driven to the bank has been located, but the money has not.
Gardaí have also been examining the family's home in Clontarf.
