A jury in the case of three men charged with a murder in Co Kildare has retired for the evening without reaching a verdict.
Alessandro de Almeida Mata, 27, Jose Claudio Batista, 30, both of Ruanbeg Close in Kildare and 26-year-old Adriano Martins Costa of Greencove Apartments in Newbridge, deny the charges.
The men, who are all from Brazil, are charged with the murder of 39-year-old Paulo Cesar Siqueria, also from Brazil, who was beaten to death in the Ruanbeg housing estate in June last year.
At least one person was seen attacking him with a wooden post.
Mr Justice Barry White has given the jury of six men and six women the option of returning verdicts of murder, manslaughter and not guilty in respect of each of the defendants.
The jury were out for over four hours today and are due to resume their deliberations in the Central Criminal Court tomorrow at 10am.
