The High Court has refused to grant an injunction against two Co Cork landowners restraining them from interfering with the erection of an overhead ESB line on their property.

The ESB wants to erect an electricity line to connect to a wind farm near Bantry.

Mr Justice Frank Clarke said there was no direct evidence that Mary Keane or her husband, John, had any involvement in the protests that led to the application for an injunction.

Proceedings against three other landowners were adjourned until Monday.
