RTÉ News has learned that Spanish police, searching for two Dublin criminals who went missing on the Costa Blanca more than two years ago, have found two bodies.
Gardaí, who are in Spain, believe they are the remains of Stephen Sugg and Shane Coates, who were members of the notorious Westies drug dealing gang.
The bodies were found at around 6.00pm this evening under concrete in a warehouse in Catral, around 60 kilometres from Alicante.
Stephen Sugg and Shane Coates were last seen alive on 31 January 2004.
They had been living in an apartment near Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca, 50 miles from Alicante.
They told their girlfriends they were going out for an hour but were never seen again after they drove away in Mr Sugg's car.
Mr Coates was wanted by gardaí in connection with a shoot out in Cavan in 2003 while Mr Sugg was being pursued by a rival criminal gang.
It is believed both men tried to establish a cocaine smuggling operation but crossed an international drugs dealing gang and were abducted and murdered.
This evening, the gardaí said identities or other details relating to the two bodies are not being released at this time.
They confirmed that they have been liaising with Spain's Policia Nacional and Guardia Civil for some time in this investigation.
