A garda investigation into allegations that a millionaire property developer illegally accessed a number of other business people's phones is continuing.
The investigation began after a woman complained to gardaí that her phone had been accessed and some messages went missing.
The property developer was interviewed by detectives and a file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
However, the DPP directed that no charges be brought against the developer because the phone he is alleged to have used to access the messages was registered in his company's name.
Gardaí believe that the businesswoman's phone was not the only one accessed and their investigation is ongoing.
The woman also alleged that she was being subject to harassment and intimidation.
Accessing another person's mobile phone message service is a relatively simple procedure if that person has not changed the code on their phone, however, it is an offence under the 1998 Postal and Telecommunications Act.
