British Prime Minister Tony Blair has had a 35-minute audience with Pope Benedict in Rome during which they discussed a range of issues, including terrorism, globalisation and poverty.
The face-to-face meeting at the Vatican marked the end of Mr Blair's official visit to Italy.
It was their first meeting since the German-born pontiff became Pope.
