A magistrates court in London has ruled that a 40-year-old British man should be recommended for extradition to the United States for allegedly hacking into US defence computer systems.
Gary McKinnon has been accused by the Americans of being the biggest military hack of all time.
He is alleged to have caused hundreds of thousands of euro worth of damage.
A final decision will now be made by the British Home Secretary, John Reid.
Mr McKinnon has admitted hacking into US military networks, but that he was motivated by curiosity not malice.
