Gardaí believe a 24-year-old man who was shot dead in north Dublin last night may have known his killer.
Unemployed father of one Gerard Goulding, of Clarence Street North in Dublin city, was shot on open ground near St Donagh’s Road in Donaghmede at 11pm.
The State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, carried out a preliminary examination of the body at the scene. The examination has revealed that he was shot in the head and chest.
Gardaí are looking for a man in relation to the incident. He was wearing a bright white tracksuit and was seen running away from the scene after the shooting.
They are also making a special appeal to taxi drivers who were in the area to contact them as they believe Mr Goulding took a taxi to the area where he met his killer.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Coolock Garda Station on 01-6664200.
