Gardaí in Cork have seized cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €1m.
The drugs were in a car which was stopped by detectives on the outskirts of the city just after 5pm this evening.
The driver of the car was arrested as he was making his way into the city between the Dunkathel Roundabout and the Glanmire By-pass.
The drugs are understood to have been destined for distribution in the city.
The driver is being detained under the Drugs Trafficking Act at Mayfield Garda Station in Cork City. He can be held for up to one week.
