Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in his 20s in Dublin.
The man was found shot dead in a cul-de-sac off Blackhorse Avenue at around midday.
He was known to gardaí and had previously been charged with firearm offences following a pub shooting in Dublin last September.
The area has been sealed off and a team from the Garda Technical Bureau is carrying out a forensic examination.
The Assistant State Pathologist, Dr Michael Curtis, has also carried out a preliminary examination on the man's body.
