Approximately 300 people have marched through Dublin city centre to protest at the depiction of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed in cartoons recently published in Europe.
March organisers congratulated the Irish media for not publishing the cartoons.
The organisers, who addressed crowds at St Stephen's Green, said the march was a peaceful one and appealed for calm in the Irish Muslim community.
Sheikh Dr Shaheed Satardien said they had organised the march to prevent another one taking place tomorrow. That event, 'the day of anger', has apparently now been cancelled.
