A man from Co Clare has been fatally wounded in a shooting in New York.
John Kelly, a 43-year-old father of three originally from Sixmilebridge, had been living in America for the past 16 years.
Police originally believed that he had fallen from a ladder outside his apartment building in the Bronx on Sunday night.
However, following a medical investigation into his death it was discovered that he died as a result of being shot.
Police are now treating the death as a homicide.
