Representatives of the victims of the Stardust tragedy claim to have new evidence which will challenge the findings of the 1982 Tribunal of Inquiry into the fire.

The Department of Justice says it will study the new material, which aims to prove that arson was not the cause of the blaze.

Forty-eight people died in the fire in the Artane nightclub, in north Dublin, in February 1981.
