Call for cameras on M4/M6 flyovers

Fianna Fáil Deputy Donie Cassidy has called on EuroLink to erect surveillance cameras to monitor the four flyovers on the new M4/M6 motorway, following a spate of attacks that damaged several cars.

Gardaí are advising motorists travelling on the M4 motorway to exercise caution near the flyovers.

During the last two nights, vandals dropped concrete blocks, iron bars and stones onto cars travelling on a section of the motorway between Kinnegad in Co Westmeath and Kilcock in Co Kildare.

Yesterday a husband and wife and their six-month-old daughter had a lucky escape when a section of crash barrier was dropped and badly damaged their vehicle.
