Pure Mule garners five IFTAs

The RTÉ drama series, Pure Mule, swept the boards at the Irish Film and Television Awards ceremony held in the RDS in Dublin last night.

Among the awards won by the drama series were; Declan Recks for Best Director, Tom Murphy for Best Actor, Dawn Bradfield for Best Actress, and Eileen Walsh for Best Supporting Actress.

The RTÉ Prime Time Investigates Programme won Best Current Affairs Programme for its documentary about the Leas Cross Nursing Home.

The Best Feature film award was given to Pavee Lackeen, Perry Ogden's film which portrays the life of a young traveller girl.

Mark Cagney of TV3 was awarded the prize for O2 TV Personality of the Year.

The actor, David Kelly, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
