The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in an appeal by Circuit Court Judge Brian Curtin against moves by the Oireachtas to remove him from office.
A motion to remove the judge was put before the Oireachtas in May last year.
Judge Curtin was found not guilty of having child pornography because a search warrant used to seize his computer was out of date.
Lawyers for Judge Curtin are appealing a High Court ruling that the Oireachtas can appoint a committee to hear testimony on the issue and require him to produce his computer.
The seven judges of the Supreme Court are expected to deliver their judgment before the end of the year.
