Bus Éireann has deferred publication of its report on the fatal Co Meath bus crash that claimed the lives of five young schoolgirls.
This follows receipt of a letter from the Director of Public Prosecution advising that publication of the report could prejudice a fair trial if any were to take place.
It had been expected that the Bus Éireann report would be published tomorrow. Copies had been printed and the board of the company was being briefed when the letter arrived from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The gardaí have concluded their investigation into the accident and have sent their file to the DPP. The Health and Safety Authority are still conducting their large scale probe into the tragedy and the company's performance and regulations.
The fatal accident occurred on the Navan to Kentstown Road in May 2005.
Deirdre Scanlon, Claire McCluskey, Sinéad Ledwidge, Lisa Callan and Aimee McCabe lost their lives in the tragedy.
