A 22-year-old woman has appeared at Dublin District Court charged with the murder of a Somali man whose dismembered remains were found in Dublin's Royal Canal last March.

Charlotte Mulhall, a single woman from Kilclare Gardens in Tallaght, Dublin, was charged with the murder of Farah Swaleh Noor - otherwise known as Sheilila Salim - at a flat at Richmond Cottages in Ballybough, Dublin, on or about 20 March.

Ms Mulhall is the second woman to be charged with the murder. Detective Sergeant William Hickey told the court Ms Mulhall had nothing to say when charged.

She was remanded in custody for one week.

Mr Noor, 39, died after suffering a number of stab wounds. His body was found close to Ballybough Bridge by passers-by but was not identified until four months later.

He had been living in Ireland since 1996.

30-year-old Linda Mulhall, a mother-of-four, also from Kilclare Gardens in Tallaght, has already appeared in court also charged with Mr Noor's murder.
