A prison uprising in Argentina over Mother's Day visiting hours has left at least 32 people dead.
About 200 inmates joined the uprising at a prison in Magdalena, 120km south of Buenos Aires.
Inmates held control of the prison overnight before order was restored this morning.
The revolt began after prisoners demanded that visiting hours should be extended on Mother's Day.
Smoke was shown rising from the prison compound after inmates set mattresses on fire, sparking a blaze that later spread to other parts of the compound.
Several family members said they entered the prison early on Sunday morning and saw corpses 'piled on top of one another'.
Hundreds of inmates' relatives are demanding information on the identity of the dead.
