Gardaí are searching for a prisoner who escaped from custody at Killmallock District Court, Co Limerick, today.
The Limerick man had been due to appear before the court and had been escorted from Castlerea Prison, in Co Roscommon, by three prison officers.
However, he escaped after he threatened staff with an implement following a visit to the toilet.
Gardaí say they are liaising with the Prison Service on the issue.
