Newly released CCTV footage shows the suspected London bombers staged a practice run nine days before the 7 July attacks.

The footage showed three of the suspects, Mohammed Sidique Khan, Shehzad Tanweer and Germaine Lindsay, at Luton station and then again at King’s Cross station.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Peter Clarke, head of Scotland Yard's Anti-Terrorist Branch, said the police are trying to find out if the men went anywhere else or met anybody else while they were in London.

Last night, the deputy leader of al-Qaeda said the group carried out the 7 July suicide bombings in London which killed 56 people.

In a videotaped message aired on the Arab TV station Al-Jazeera, Ayman al-Zawahri said al-Qaeda had the ‘honour’ of carrying out the attacks.

Osama Bin Laden's second-in-command had previously praised the bombings and blamed them on Britain's foreign policy but this is the first time he has admitted carrying them out.
