A woman has appeared at Dublin District Court charged with the murder of a man whose body was found in Dublin's Royal Canal earlier this year.

Linda Mulhall, 30, a mother of four, with an address at Kilclare Gardens in Tallaght was charged with the murder of Sheilila Salim, otherwise known as Farah Swaleh Noor.

Mr Noor's body was found in the Royal Canal at Ballybough in north Dublin on 30 March last.

The 40-year-old, originally from Somalia, was positively identified four months after his body was found.

Today, Linda Mulhall was charged that on or about the 20 March 2005 at Flat 1, 17 Richmond Cottages, Ballybough she did murder Sheilila Salim otherwise Farah Swaleh Noor.

The court was told Ms Mulhall replied no to the charge.

She was remanded in custody to appear at Dublin District Court again on 21 September.

In another development as part of the ongoing investigation into Mr Noor's death, gardaí this afternoon arrested a woman in her 50s in Co Carlow.
