Brazil has announced that it will conduct its own inquiry into the shooting dead of one its citizens by police in London who mistook him for a suicide bomber.
It follows reports of a cover-up in relation to the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes last month.
Mr de Menezes was shot eight times on an underground train by police.
Yesterday, it emerged that London's Police Commissioner, Sir Ian Blair, had initially tried to block an independent inquiry into the incident.
Earlier this week, leaked documents suggested that initial reports that the 27-year-old Brazilian electrician ran from police in Stockwell tube station were wrong.
Sir Ian has denied that there was any cover-up in the British investigation. Despite pressure, he has said he will not resign and has defended his response to the killing.
