An Italian court has approved the extradition to Britain within 35 days of one of the suspected bombers in the 21 July failed attack on London's transport system.

Ethiopian-born Osman Hussain has admitted taking part in the London attack but has insisted that the action was only meant to scare and not to hurt.

His lawyer, Antonietta Sonnessa, told reporters that he would appeal against the extradition ruling.

Mr Hussain was seized in Rome after fleeing Britain in the wake of the failed attack, which brought chaos to London exactly two weeks after suicide bombers had killed 56 people in the British capital.

None of the bombs used in the 21 July attack exploded.
