The family of a Brazilian man shot dead by British police who mistook him for a suicide bomber have called for the shoot-to-kill policy to be suspended.
It comes after leaked documents cast doubt on the account given by the police about the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes at Stockwell tube station in London last month.
The shooting happened a day after a series of failed bomb attacks in the city on 21 July.
Initial reports said Mr de Menezes had been acting suspiciously and jumped a ticket barrier as police pursued him.
However, witness and police statements obtained by the television network ITV say he walked calmly into the station.
Lawyers acting on behalf of Mr de Menezes's family today issued a statement saying they no longer had any confidence in the official investigation into his death.
Scotland Yard and the British Home Office have so far said it would be inappropriate to comment.
