One of the main suspects in the failed London bombings has been charged with conspiracy to murder.

Yassin Omar is alleged to have tried to detonate a bomb on the Tube at Warren Street on 21 July.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said he had been charged with conspiring with others to murder passengers on the London transport system.

The 24-year-old was arrested in Birmingham on 27 July.

Three men remanded on terrorism charges

Three men facing charges over the botched bombings in London on 21 July have been remanded in custody, a day after they were indicted for failing to disclose information about the attacks.

The three men - Shadi Abdel Gadir, 22, Omar Nagmeloin
Almagboul, 20, and Mohamed Kabashi, 23 - were arrested in raids in the southern coastal city of Brighton on 31 July.

They were charged under the British Terrorism Act 2000 and the case against them has been adjourned until 11 August.
